Scholarships, Grants, Financial Aid, FASA
The sad fact is, most parents fail to capitalize on reducing the cost of a college education. Millions of dollars go unclaimed each year, due to ignorance, laziness or frustration. You see, 96% of all scholarships, grants, loans and free monies, come from only several sources, the Federal Government, State Government, the college institution and your employer.  If your are going to save money, get out of debt, receive scholarships or get any financial aid, their are certain hoops you must go through, and the government is not going to make it easy! For starters, there is this thing called a FASA or FAFSA, which is a fancy acronym for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Yes, its brought to you by the same folks who designed the 1040, 1040a, 1040EZ...and its not easy, its frustrating, tedious, and time consuming. If you thought tax forms and life insurance applications were complicated, Wait until you see these forms. You see about 65% go in with errors. That means, you have to correct the error, send it back and hope its correct. If its not, they will send it back for correction again. The  universal problem, while your waiting to make your correction, the above sources are giving out  thousands of dollars in scholarship money and financial aid, scholarships and grant monies.  Life is to short. If you delay to long, you will not get any financial aid or very little scholarship or grant money.  No folks, their is no TURBO TAX for FAFSA. So if you fill out the information yourself, you have a better then 50-50 chance of sending it incorrectly. Even worse, by failing to take advantage of little know strategies....its going to cost you thousands. How much are you willing to gamble! And thats only one form, some colleges have their own forms, as well as the CSS PROFILE....But thats another subject....until next time..good luck....
